Acceptable use policy

Last updated · July 25, 2026

NetSecWall shows you every connection a Windows PC makes. That is powerful, and it is meant for machines you own or are authorized to administer. This policy sets the line.

Use it for

  • Monitoring and protecting your own devices.
  • Devices you administer with authorization — a company fleet, a client's estate, lab machines.
  • Parental controls on a family device, where the person using it knows the controls exist.
  • Security research, incident response, and forensics on systems you are permitted to examine.

Do not use it for

  • Covert surveillance. Installing it on someone else's device without their knowledge (a partner, an employee who wasn't told, anyone) is prohibited, and is a crime in many countries.
  • Intercepting communications you have no right to intercept.
  • Circumventing security controls, licensing, or trial enforcement — ours or anyone else's. That includes trying to re-run the 7-day trial on a device that has already used it.
  • Any use that breaks applicable law, including data-protection, wiretapping, and workplace-monitoring rules.
  • Reselling, sublicensing, or redistributing the software, or sharing a license key beyond the seats it covers.
  • Attacking our services: probing, scraping, brute-forcing the licensing API, or sending forged telemetry.

If you deploy it to other people's machines

Organizations using the Enterprise management server are responsible for having a lawful basis to monitor, and for telling their users. In most of Europe that means a documented policy, notice to staff, and, in many cases, works-council consultation. We give you the tooling; the legal groundwork is yours.

A practical rule: if the person using the device would be shocked to learn the software is there, you should not be installing it.

Enforcement

Where we have concrete evidence of abuse we may block the license key, suspend the account, and, if required, cooperate with law enforcement. Blocked keys are not refunded. If you believe a key was blocked in error, open a support ticket and we will review it.

Reporting abuse

Found misuse of NetSecWall, or a security issue in it? Report it. Security reports are welcome, and we will not pursue researchers who test in good faith against their own installs and disclose responsibly.
